International Women's Day

International Women’s Day, the 8th of March, is a day to celebrate and recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. However, it is also a resounding call to invest, invest, support, and empower women for a more equitable and prosperous future. In 2024, the theme of International Women’s Day is Count Her In: Invest in Women. This theme stands as a powerful testament to the ongoing global movement towards gender equality and economic empowerment for women.

The Fitted for Work Difference

In 2023, Australia was ranked 26th in the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report, with a gender pay gap of 21.7% according to WGEA. Alarmingly, Australia ranks 38th for economic participation and opportunity, and 53rd when it comes to wage equality for similar work.

At Fitted for Work, we help women experiencing disadvantage to find work, keep work and thrive in their careers. We believe every woman has the right to economic security. Since 2005, we have helped over 43,000 women. We focus on employment because economic independence is an enabler for women to exercise control over their lives. Work provides security, choice, social connection, and dignity. We believe that when a woman is fitted for work, she is fitted for life.
