For many women, the first step to getting work is simply having a suitable outfit to wear to job interviews. Our Personal Outfitting service provides one-on-one styling to ensure everyone who attends will leave looking and feeling their absolute best.
This service helps our clients become their most comfortable and confident self. Your gently worn clothing can help women and gender diverse jobseekers put their best foot (and new pre-loved shoes) forward into the world of work.
Thousands of women go through our outfitting service every year, so the clothing donations we receive are incredibly valuable. Unfortunately, sorting and disposing of unwearable clothing costs us time and money that could be going towards supporting our clients.
Our golden rule is: if you wouldn’t wear it to work tomorrow, our clients wouldn’t either.
We accept clean, undamaged women’s fashion and accessories, including:
- Tops and blouses
- Knitwear, jackets and coats
- Pants and skirts
- Hats and scarves
- Unopened toiletries, hosiery and makeup
Thank you for being selective with your donations.
- Dirty, stained or damaged clothing and accessories
- Men’s and Children’s wear
- Underwear without tags
- Opened toiletries, cosmetics, and hosiery
- Prescription glasses
When you choose to donate clothing to Fitted for Work you are giving more than just clothes, you’re giving hope. We are so grateful to each of you for sharing your gently worn and fiercely loved clothing with our clients.
Want to add a little something extra to your donation? Why not place a little note inside one of the pockets to encourage the women who will be wearing your outfit to a job interview!
We have received lots of messages from our amazing clothing donors who have used their extra time at home this year to clear out their wardrobe or reevaluate their work attire needs. We can’t wait to receive your beautiful clothing donations when it is safe to do so.
We will be introducing a COVID-Safe contactless donation drop off process in the coming months, in line with the government recommendations. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates. We are so grateful for your patience and look forward to receiving your donations soon.
