Last night, Mary Crooks was named category winner for ‘Public Policy’ at Australia’s prestigious 100 Women of Influence Awards. These awards, sponsored by The Financial Review and Westpac, recognise and “celebrate bold, energetic women who capture the spirit of progress, helping shape a vibrant, inclusive, economic and social future for Australia”.

Fitted for Work has been proud to call Mary Board Chair since 2014. Beginning as a lecturer before moving into public policy on the invitation of former Victorian premier John Cain, Mary has led the Victorian Women’s Trust for 19 years, developing within the organisation a strong emphasis on advocacy, grant making, public debate and policy development, engaging women as well as men.

Mary founded the Dugdale Trust, named after pioneering suffrage advocate and anti-violence campaigner Henrietta Dugdale, is a board member of San Francisco based global Women’s Funding Network, which is a forum for ideas and the development of policy, advancing literacy and eliminating poverty.
