For two decades, Fitted for Work has stood at the forefront of economic empowerment in Australia. Since 2005, more than 47,000 women and gender-diverse people have engaged with our services — single mothers, First Nations women, migrants, mature-aged jobseekers, women with disabilities, and survivors of family violence. Each story represents resilience, dignity, and the power of opportunity.

The Future Fund is our bold next step: a perpetual endowment designed to secure the future of this impact. A Letter from Wendy Stops

During my 9 and a half years on the Board of Fitted for Work, including two as Chair, I witnessed the life-changing impact this organisation has on thousands of women – single mothers, migrants, survivors of domestic violence, mature-aged women, First Nations women, women with disabilities, and more.

Some stories stay with me forever. Brenda, once living in her car with her four-year-old daughter, rebuilt her life with FFW’s support and now helps others as part of our client services team. Lucia, a new migrant battling Stage 3 breast cancer while caring for her ill mother, became an entrepreneur and community leader after finding strength with FFW.

These are just two of more than 47,000 stories of transformation. To ensure this work continues for generations, I am proud to introduce the Fitted for Work Future Fund — an endowment fund designed to provide a sustainable income stream, supporting core operations and strategic initiatives.

Why the Future Fund Matters

Fitted for Works clients secure employment in just 13 weeks on average — far faster than the national average of 67 weeks — and for every $1 invested, there is a $2.19 direct economic return, not including the ripple effects across families and communities. The Future Fund is our safeguard against economic uncertainty. It ensures that no matter the climate, FFW can continue expanding services, deepening impact, and building a gender-equal future.

What is the Future Fund?

The Future Fund is a professionally managed Public Ancillary Fund (PUAF). Capital is invested for growth and stability, with annual distributions providing untied income to power FFW’s programs, research, and innovation.

Our Ambition

Short-term: Raise $5–10 million to initiate annual distributions.
Long-term: Grow to $20+ million to fully sustain FFW’s mission in perpetuity
