About the Role:

Fitted for Work’s She Works team are recruiting a Part-time Office Coordinator & Executive Assistant for an Employer Partner here in Melbourne. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in the organisation, responsible for implementing effective and
realistic office systems to assist this NFP to carry out its work. They will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff to organise and complete the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the office.

Role will include (but not limited to)

  • Act as the first point of contact for the organisation, including answering phone calls and responding to emails and text messages
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and to all staff, students, and volunteers
  • Maintain the condition of the office and arrange for repairs and maintenance, when necessary, inclusive of all IT systems and computers, office machinery, and telecommunications devices
  • Liaise with the Bookkeeper regarding accounts processing, including supplier payments, petty cash reconciliation, and management of payroll processes
  • Assist in employee and volunteer recruitment
  • Set up and maintain staff computer and ICT systems, including onboarding, training, and inducting new employees and volunteers in using the ICT and office systems
  • Provide administrative support as required to maintain accreditation standards
  • Provide event management support as required for training, fundraising, Annual General Meetings, and other events
  • Assist with internal and external communications
  • Assist with grant writing and policy submissions
About the Organisation: 

Project Respect is a non-profit community-based organisation that aims to empower and support women in the sex industry, including women who have experienced trafficking. We work from a feminist and intersectional framework, which positions women at the centre of our work and recognises the structural systems which underpin and perpetuate gender inequality.

About You: 
  • An understanding of the political environment and current issues affecting women in the sex industry, including women who have experienced trafficking, including violence against women.
  • Experience and skill in a similar role.
  • Capacity to delivery multiple organisational projects in an effective and timely manner.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal skills. Proven ability in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and stakeholder relationships, including experience in work with women from diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively network and collaborate with a wide range of professionals from the service sector.
  • Ability to work with initiative, flexibility, and autonomously, as well as take direction and work as part of a small team.

It is highly desirable if the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of the sex industry.
  • Multilingual with a preference for Mandarin, Thai, or Korean.
  • Demonstrated understanding of human trafficking, the Victorian sex industry, and issues facing women in the sex industry including women who have experienced trafficking.

Qualifications
A combination (or equivalent) of the following, in conjunction with workplace experience:
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (i.e. communications, public relations)

Other Requirements
  • Current driver’s licence and regular travel is expected
  • High Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) proficiency is expected
  • Pre employment checks – Pre-existing Injury/Disease Declaration Form, National Criminal History Check, International Police Check (if required) and a Working with Children Check
